Film Opening Analysis

2 comments:

  1. Nicely written Megs and a good start. It's a high C/low B at the mo but you must aim for an A.

For that, do a little bit at the start introducing the film. Name the film/year/director/cast/characters etc. then we know who you're talking about in the analysis.

Say more about mise-en-scene. So use CLAMPS. You can say lots about costume, props, settings that you've not yet mentioned.

It's very high standard, you just need to cover all areas.

  2. Good work Meg

I'd usually suggest a section on characters but I think you discuss them nicely in other areas.

Locations might be an area to work on - we see a few in the opening. What do they tell us about the background of the characters/themes of the film? The lighting/condition of their surroundings say quite a lot to us as an audience.

A sound clip of Lust For Life might be a nice touch too but won't affect your mark so not a big issue.

Well written as always and great readings/understanding of key concepts. Low L4 (A-)
